Roy Carlyle Bowman, 69, of Eden passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Ancora Compassionate Care in Reidsville.

A gathering of friends will be held from 3-5pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.

Roy was born February 20, 1955 on Langley Air Force Base to the late Moir Virgil Bowman and Maisie Pierce Bowman. He worked as a truck driver for many years. Roy was an incredibly devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving is his daughter, Kathy Bowman; grandchildren, Jacob Murphy, Lana Jacobs, Brennen Halterman, Deanna Lawson, and Mackenzie Lawson; great-grandchild, Malakai; siblings, William Bowman, Buddy and Gayle Bowman, Rosemary and Larry Garrett, and Joyce Bowman.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Bowman.

My heart is broken to know Roy has passed. I had no idea he was sick. Had I known I would have made a special trip to Eden to see him. We met in about 1972. He was one of the sweetest & most gentle souls I have ever known. We put many miles on his aqua Super Bee & shared many happy times. May his family find peace in knowing he is in a better place. May his friends remember him with great fondness & love. The world was blessed with having him while we did.
