Obituary For Evelyn Elizabeth Outlaw Poston
August 20, 1935 - November 24, 2021


Evelyn Elizabeth Outlaw Poston, 86, passed away November 24th at her residence in Eden with her son David by her side.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, November 29th at 2:00pm in the Ridgeview Cemetery of Eden, NC. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home before proceeding to the graveside.

Evelyn was born August 20, 1935 to the late Walter Outlaw and Lela Howard Outlaw in Kinston, NC.  She received a Master’s Degree from Eastern Carolina in music.  Evelyn was the woman that brought the joy of music to Eden City Schools.  She started her education career as the Morehead High School as the Librarian and later taught at Draper Jr. High School, Central, Burton Grove, Lakeside and North Spray Elementary Schools. She was former choir director of First Christian Church and later First Church of the Brethren. Evelyn was a soloist for Leaksville United Methodist Church Christmas Cantata for many years.

Mrs. Poston was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Robert T. Fleming and her husband Harry Poston.

She is survived by her son David A. Fleming (Rhonda) of Eden; daughter, Carol F. Barrett (David) of Weaverville, NC; grand-daughter, Natasha Beasley, grandson, Morgan Barrett; great grand-daughter, Alexis Pruitt; one great grandson Cody Pruitt.
