Obituary For Betty Kallam Turner September 30, 1938 - November 12, 2022 Betty Kallam Turner, 84, of Matthews, NC, formerly of Eden, NC, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord November 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, NC. Burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery in Eden. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, from 11am-12noon. Betty was born September 30, 1938, in Leaksville, NC to the late Louis and Elaine Kallam. Betty was the second oldest of 8 siblings. She graduated from Tri-City High School in 1957 and married Ronald Turner in June of 1957. Her professions included beautician and a bookkeeper at The Eden Daily News until retiring in 2003. In 2013, Betty moved to Matthews to be close to family. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. Betty is survived by her son, Rick and daughter-in law, Debbie, of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Austin and Becca Turner of Midland, NC, Hayden Turner of Wilmington, NC; great-grandchildren, Jayce and Harper Turner; sisters, Barbara Bryant (Herman), Laura Mayes, Vickie Ellington (Doug); brothers, Jim Kallam (Betty), Doug Kallam (Gloria), Jerry Kallam (Fran), Donnie Kallam (Linda); many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Turner; brother, Larry Kallam; brother-in-law, Jerry Mayes.
