Obituary For Luvice Gene Murphy January 8, 1932 - January 4, 2023 Luvice Gene Murphy, 90, of Eden, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at his home. A graveside service will be held 2pm Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Eden. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Fair Funeral Home. Luvice was born January 8, 1932, in Nacogdoches, TX, to the late Jess Murphy and Alice Soloman Murphy. He served his country in the US Army from 1956 – 1958. Luvice worked as a sweeper for Tultex until his retirement in 2000. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Rlena Smith (Johnny) of Eden, Ilena Beck (Marty) of Trinity; brother, Larry Murphy of Eden; sister, Elease (Lisa) Smith of Greensboro; Andrew Dreyer of Eden, China Dreyer of Eden, Johnny Lee Smith (Regina) of Rockingham, Kevin Smith of Eden, Ilena Kay Murphy, Michelle K. McGaha (Cody), Danielle M. Sitzer (Nick), Erin J. Noteboom, Lauren P. Beck, Zackary B. Beck; 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Luvice is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Murphy.
