Obituary For Michael Ray Rodgers January 23, 1947 - February 5, 2023 Michael Ray Rodgers, 76, of Cascade, VA, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. A memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors to be performed on the front lawn. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from Noon – 1pm, at Fair Funeral Home. Michael was born January 23, 1947, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late James Rodgers and Nellie Murphy Witt. He was a member of Osborne Baptist Church. Michael served his country as an SP4, Combat Engineer, in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Burlington Industries and Zarn Plastics, Inc., as an industrial mechanic until his retirement. Surviving are his loving wife, Brenda Barksdale Rodgers of the home; daughters, Susan Hampton (Dale) of Dry Fork, VA, Rhonda McGuire of Axton, VA, Tracy Fry (Jerry) of Julien, NC; step-daughter, Brenda Carol Martin (Todd) of Sutherland, VA; granddaughters, Christen Curry, Hannah McGuire; grandson, Dakota Hampton; great-grandchildren, Paisley Curry, Tristan Curry; step-grandchildren, Cheyenne Dobbs, Autumn McKinney, Carrie Hodge, Stephanie Fry, Eliza Fry Miller, Jerrold Fry; step-great-grandchildren, Phoenix Dobbs, Grace Fry; brother, Bobby Rodgers (Kathy); sister, Peggy Gassage. In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his grandsons, Joey McGuire, Noah McGuire; stepson, Jess Adams; brothers, Freddy Rodgers, Homer Rodgers, Jack Rodgers, and Calvin Rodgers.
