Obituary For Dewey Sanford Snody July 3, 1935 - March 1, 2023 Dewey Sanford Snody, 87, of Eden, passed on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at UNC Rockingham Health Care in Eden. A funeral service will be held at 3pm Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery with full Military Honors by the US Army and Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 4 to 6pm at Fair Funeral Home. Dewey was born July 3, 1935, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Dallas Snody and Martha Mae Tilley Snody. He served his country in the US Army. Dewey attended New Beginnings Church and Love Thy Neighbour Baptist Church. He worked as a mechanic at Waste Management until his retirement. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Elizabeth “Penny” Snody of the home; Sandy Crouch (Gary); special friend, Kathy Yeatts; sister, Ruby Alcorn (Jimmy); nieces, Cindy Neri (Josiel), Tammy Kennedy, Peggy Atwell, Sandra Hairfield, Shirley Snody, Donna Smith, Rinda Rudisill and Frances Snody; nephews, Roger Snody, Tim Snody, Ronnie Snody (Kim), Randy Snody (Jennifer), Frankie Snody (Bridgett), Ricky Curry, Duran Gardner (Dawn); grandsons, Keegan Neri, Skyler Neri. He was preceded in death along with his parents by brothers, Clayburn, Ernest and Frank Snody; sister, Maybelle S. Oliver; nephews, Ernest Snody, Jr. and Donald W.
