Obituary For Frederick Dunham McFalls

Frederick Dunham McFalls, 93, passed away Friday, March 17th at his residence in Eden, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm Friday, March 24, 2023 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Military Honors will be given on the front lawn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Frederick was born January 8, 1930, in Gastonia, NC, to the late Oliver Wendell McFalls and Cleo Cauble McFalls. His education, service, and career were as follows:

From 1964-1968 At Assistant Professor of Anatomy, Duke University 

From 1968- 1972 At Head of Medical Development, Carolina Biological Supply, Burlington, NC

From 1995- 2000 At Staff Psychaiatrist, Mental Health Care, Inc., Tampa, FL 

Mental Health Care, Inc., is an organization of Hillsborough County for outpatient treatment of indigent patients. During this time, he was in charge of the Prolixin and Clozaril and supervised two Nurse Practitioners. One day a week he saw patients at a residential Drug Treatment Branch with a Dual Diagnosis of Substance Abuse and a Psychiatric Diagnosis. The remainder of his time was spent evaluating and prescribing medication for numerous Psychiatric Disorders.   

Survived by his brother, Samuel McFalls; his loving Wife, Yvonne McFalls; his two sons, Hunter and Freddy McFalls; his Daughter Anne Pontin; and his two Grandchildren, Campbell and Kessler Pontin.
