Jesse Howard Corum, 89, of 300 Bethlehem Church Road in Eden, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Brian Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 30, at Dan River Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Jesse was born October 12, 1927 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Willie Pink Corum and Eva Rickman Corum. He was a long-time member of Dan River Wesleyan Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. After his retirement he worked at a local Food Lion for 10 years. Jesse will be remembered as a loving and wonderful man.
He is survived by his five children, Nancy Ashburn of Eden, Linda Wimberly of Macon, GA, Jerry Corum, Gary Corum and Debbie Durham, all of Eden; 19 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Corum of Stoneville; and sister, Gracie Roberson of Eden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Lester Corum and daughter, Peggy Burchell.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 5 - 7 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 300 Bethlehem Church Road.
