Jason Lee Moore of 145 Springwater Road, Ruffin, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord with all his heart.  Jason was a member and part owner of Sideline Bluegrass Band and toured with them as bus driver and bass player all over the country.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 27th, at 2pm at Fair Funeral Home in Eden with the Reverend Mark Wheeler officiating. The service will be available via Facebook Live. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, November 26 and other times at the home. Burial will follow the service on Saturday at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church.

Jason is a long time veteran of the bluegrass and Americana music scene.  He first started working in bluegrass with the James King Band from 1993 to 1999.  While there he was on the the award winning Bed By The Window project in addition to other James King projects.  Also during this time he was asked to be on two Michael Cleveland projects along with Mountain Heart. Jason was with Mountain Heart until 2014.  During his tenure with Mountain Heart, they recorded six albums and he collaborated on numerous projects as a session player. Jason worked with Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road and her Country Grass project.  As a result of the work he has done in different bands and projects Jason has been on three Grammy Nominated projects and has been nominated for bass player of the year with the International Bluegrass Music Association awards numerous times.  Jason's latest ventures include starting the bluegrass band Sideline and working with other nationally touring bluegrass bands as well as studio session work and production. To date, Jason has played bass on at least 100 different recording projects.  Jason has played the Grand Ole Opry more than 100 times.

Jason was a loving husband and father who especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a selfless, dedicated family man and was known and loved by all his family and friends. Jason was an avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan.  His baseball card collection is second to none.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Linton Moore. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mollie Moore, mother Rita Moore, brother Darren Moore (Amy), daughter Katrina McGuire (Kevin), son B.J. Bottoms (Lauren), grandmother Alease Moore, grandfather Newton Hill, grandchildren Kylee, Caroline, Emelia, Barrett, Rachel and Declan, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made the the Jason Moore Bluegrass Fund, Woodforest National Bank, c/o Mollie Moore (Account No. xxxx8108).
