Nathan L Jones, Sr., 79, of Cascade, VA, passed away on Monday, November 29th, 2021, at The Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, at 11am, at Danview Cemetery in Eden, NC.

Nathan was born on February 11th, 1942, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late William Robert Jones and Josephine Moore Jones. Nathan served the U.S. Air Force where he was Staff Sergeant and served in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW Post 647. He was also a charter member of the Cascade Ruritan Club and a charter member of the Cascade Community Center.  Over the years, Nathan has studied, both in service through Dan River Mills and through courses at DCC in Danville, VA, and RCC in Wentworth, NC, receiving several degrees in many areas and becoming a certified electrician at Dan River Mills before retirement. He loved country music.  He played guitar over the years in NC and VA with many friends.

He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Evon Booth Jones; his children, Deborah Jones Craig of Cascade, VA and Nathan L Jones Jr. of Nolensville, TN; grandchildren, Jason Craig (Katie Shull) of Eden, NC, Taylor Jones (Rachel Sharlene) of Calhoun, GA, Natalie Jones and Nicole Jones, both of Nolensville, TN; great grandchildren, Landon Craig, Leynzi Craig, Lauryn Craig, and Leah Craig, all of Eden, NC; his sister, Jeanna Dameron Bueal.

In addition to his parents, Nathan is preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert Jones, Elmer Jones, Harry Jones, Luther Jones; sisters, Elizabeth Brown, Dorothy Wyrick, Carolyn Clute, Loraine Hopper; and by his great granddaughter, Lezlea Craig.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, NC 27017, 336.356.5000.

Evon , Nathan Jr. , and Deborah , I'm very sorry to hear of Nathan's passing. I remember him as a friendly fellow , who liked to joke around. Prayers for you and the rest of the family in this sorrowful time.

I'm very sorry for your loss. When I see Nathan's face and smile it fills my heart with fond memories of his joy for life, family, stroies and laughter. Nathan of course he reminds me of my Mom and his sister Carolyn I'm sure they're together now. God be with you during this time of greif and let him lift your spirits high.
