Terry Tyrone Carter, 64, of Eden passed June 5, 2022 at UNC Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden with burial to follow at Odell Family Cemetery in Ridgeway. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 1-2pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Terry was born March 5, 1958, in Leaksville, NC, to the late Walter Henry Carter, Jr. and Alice Elaine Hopkins Carter. He enjoyed and was skilled at auto body work, spending his career working at several body shops in the area. Terry worked for Chilton’s Body Shop and Dents and More in Eden, and Park’s Chevrolet in Kernersville, and Randy Shropshire’s.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Deloris “Dee” Carter; son, Terry Tyler Carter (Cassandra Curry) of Reidsville; daughter, Tracie Laine Carter (Al White, Jr.) of Ridgeway; “Poppy’s” grandchildren, Katelyn Michelle Webster (John), Traidon Lee Washburn, Selena Isabella Juarez, Nicholas Ryland Carter, Alissa Alaina White; 2 step-granchildren, Layla Bolden, McKayla White; sister, Debra Chilton (Melvin) of Eden; brother, Dennis Wayne Carter (Pam) of Stoneville; numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry was such a good man. I worked with him for 6 years at Parks Chevy. Loved going to lunch with him and his brother Dennis and the other shop guys. He was a joy to be around. Would do anything for you. He will be greatly missed by many. Go fly high sweet man!!!
