Robert William Hayden, 73, of Ruffin passed Monday, June 27, 2022 at WesleyLongHospital in Greensboro.
A funeral service will be held 3pm Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 2-3pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Ruffin. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Connie Williams, 390 Dix Rd, Ruffin.
Robert was born June 1, 1949 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late George William Hayden and Lois Slaughter Hayden Quesinberry. He was a member of OsborneBaptistChurch. Robert worked as a truck driver for Fleetmaster for many years.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Diane O’Dell Hayden; daughters, Connie Williams (Derek) of Ruffin, Robin Lovings (Charles) of Ruffin; grandchildren, Shai Biggs (Zach) of Eden and Arik Williams (Jennifer) of Dayton, Va.; half brothers, Cecil Hayden (Debbie) of Wisconsin, Greg Hayden (Shelli) of Williamsburg, Va.; Ron Hayden (Kitty) of California; sister, Mary Ballard (Joe) of Texas;special companion, Jean Newton; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Marshall Hill.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Pyron Hayden; brothers, Joe Hayden, Mike Hayden, Wayne Slaughter; sister, Jean Peters.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff in the ICU Unit and CancerCenter at WesleyLongHospital, Nurse Dana Herndon, and Dr. Mohammed.
Memorials may be made to Osborne Baptist Church of Eden, Youth, 326 E Stadium Dr, Eden, NC27288, or the Leukemia Foundation.
