Janice Blackwell Griffin, 79, of Eden passed Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at DanviewCemetery in Eden. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 11-11:45am, at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.
Janice was born April 8, 1943, in Leaksville, NC, to the late Paul Leonard and Pauline Hailey Blackwell. She was a member of OsborneBaptistChurch in Eden. Janice was a member of the Loyal Order of the Women of the Moose for 21 years. She loved Braves baseball and the Carolina Tarheels. Janice enjoyed spending time at the beach.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Lorene Wood of Eden; brother, Rodger Blackwell (Pam) of Eden; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis “Goody” Griffin; daughter, Robin Denise Griffin.

Janice and I grew up in Draper and went through school together. She was always bright and cheerful, and all her classmates liked her. I believe there was a special bond between all of us when we were at Draper Hunior High. Though it has been a few years since I last saw Janice, I will always remember her as a kind and considerate person and a good friend. My prayers go out for the family.
