Clydine Magueline Martin East, 77, of Eden passed Monday, August 1, 2022 at her home.
A graveside service will be held 11am Thursday, August 4, 2022 at DanView Cemetery in Eden, NC. The family will receive friends at other times at the home, 400 Ford St, Eden, NC 27288 and also from 2-5pm following the service at the same address.
Clydine was born December 26, 1944 in Draper, NC, to the late Jessie Washington Martin and Nora Lela Haynes Martin. She was a graduate of Morehead High School. She worked at Leaksville Spray Elementary School in the cafeteria for more than 23 years. Clydine later worked for and retired from Winn-Dixie after many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, raising her grandchildren, and loving on her dog, Chloe.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Deania East Atkins, Sandy East Harris (Read), Jennie East; son, Fred P. East (Tammy); 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Vada Ferguson and Emma Walker; niece, Darlene Martin Vestal; special family members, Jimmy Holt, Michael Keaton; best friend, Jeannette Underwood.
In addition to her parents, Clydine is preceded in death by her brothers, Don Martin, H.D. Martin; sisters, Evelyn Martin London, Arnella Martin Foster, Jacqueline Martin Heath, Linda Martin Talley, Jessie Ann Martin Price.

I loved Dean's trait that she would speak her mind regardless if you wanted to hear it or not. I have never met a woman who loved her family so much. She loved with the heart of a lion. I feel so blessed to have gotten to know your mom over the last several years. We shared a lot of laughs and I was able to hear some fascinating stories. Please know my heart hurts for each of you. I just cannot believe she has left us. I remember all of the great times we shared when we lived on Ford St. I was proud that we shared my son and he called her Momma too. We knew her as Dean, never knew her name was Clydine. Dean was truly a caregiver, she cared for her family friends and the community. She was a sweet soul and precious to all who knew her.
