Ronnie was not only my rock to help me in the 26th NC Regiment, he was a dear and devoted friend. His smile could light up any room and you could just see the joy in his eyes when he talked about Mea, his family, his fur babies, and especially when he talked about the Lord. He was a great example of an honorable, strong, and faithful man. I will miss him terribly but I will do my best to emulate his example each day I have left on this earth. He fought the good fight, he has finished the course, and he kept the faith. We wish you God's speed as you enter in God's kingdom as a good and faithful servant.

My name is John Hutton and I loved Ronnie.  In times past we would attend many CW Reenactments.  We had great times together. One of my favorite pictures on my wall is a photo of him and me at a Gettysburg event years ago.    Living down on Oak Island we lost track of each other over time.  We would talk about his being a DJ as I was President of our local Shag Club.  I am sorry to hear of his pasing as he was a true gentleman and the the world is a lesser place without him.

Dear Family,

I was very sorry to hear of Ronnie's passing. I first met Ronnie nearly 30 years ago when he used to participate in our SCV memorial services here in Stokes County and we became friends almost immediately. I later had the honor of serving with him as a reenactor with the 26th North Carolina Troops reenactment unit and always appreciated his leadership. I remember especially his sermons on Sunday mornings especially at the 145th Gettysburg in 2008. He was well thought of by all that knew him and especially among those of us that served with him. If I can be of assistance in any way, please don't hesitate to let me know. God speed old friend!

Mea, we are so sorry about Ronnie, but thankful he's not in pain.  He was such a great guy and always had a great smile and laugh.  I remember our class reunion meetings and he was always carrying on with excitement in his voice of seeing classmates again.  He was a dedicated fireman and fought many a fire, I'm sure.  He was also a great DJ and enjoyed playing music and seeing people enjoy themselves.  I know you and your 4 legged babies will miss him so much, but will see him again.  Please take care and also accept our love and deepest sympathy.

It grieves me to know that you, Mea, have lost the "love of your life" and I didn't even know it. You know that you have been in my prayers and will continue to be.  One of the most difficult things about moving away from Eden, was losing continued contact with those I left behind.  I know that mere words cannot bring comfort, but you know where Ronnie is and with whom.  God will bring the healing and the comfort as you seek Him.  He loves you and is in control of all that is in our world, even when it feels like we have been abandoned.  I love you and will do whatever I can to make you able to move on and experience the joys that God wants to bring into you llife even in such a time as this.  Let me kow of anything that I can do to help you.
I love you and will continue to pray for you.
Ethel Fincher
