Mrs. Frieda Davis Evans, 97, died on January 6th, 2023, peacefully surrounded by family at UNC Rockingham Health Care (Morehead Hospital) in Eden, NC.

Mrs. Evans was born on July 16th, 1925, in Trinity, NC to the late Essie Cobb Davis and G.M. Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas E. Evans, her son Thomas “Tommy” Evans, and siblings Truett Davis, Curtis Davis, Elray Davis, Marion Sibley, and Ethel Taylor.

Mrs. Evans was most recently a resident of Eden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, but had resided in Stoneville, NC most of her life. She was a member of the Church of God and lived a life serving in various roles in the local church including Sunday School Teacher, Prayer Warrior, and Visitation Ministries. Her children are Gloria Jean Harris (Charlie) of Winston Salem, NC, Janice Black of Greensboro, NC, Daryl Evans (Tina) of Manchester, IN and Kenneth Evans of Stoneville, NC. She had 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, 432 Boone Rd., Eden, NC 27288, with Reverend Troy Wilhelm officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10-11am, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Evans Family Cemetery, C&N Smith Mill Rd, Stoneville, NC 27048. Mrs. Evans will lie-in-repose Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, from 12pm-5pm, at Fair Funeral Home.
