Chris worked as a General Superintendent for Crowder Construction.  He was dedicated to his career and had developed many personal friendships from his work family.

Chris was born January 5, 1972, in Reidsville, North Carolina.  Chris enjoyed spending time outside, especially in the mountains or at the beach.  Chris spent many years in the Boy Scouts, where he achieved Eagle Scout status.  It is here that he cultivated his love for fishing, canoeing and camping.  He also had a passion for the culinary arts and enjoyed feeding friends and family.  He was also a staple at the Piedmont drag strip on Thursday nights where he enjoyed watching the races.

He is survived by his parents, Paul Thomas “Tommy” and Judy Joyce Frye; sons, Alexander Shawn Frye (Brittany) of Reidsville, NC, Jarrett Evan Frye of Eden, NC, James Conner Frye of Burlington, NC, and  Anakin Brent Frye of Burlington, NC; four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in the name of Christopher S. Frye at any Wells Fargo location. A donation will be made in his name to a charity picked by his sons.

Praying for all of you ! Chris was a great dad and friend to all of us . We met Chris  when our son Josh started playing baseball with Connor . We  all become baseball family almost instantly! Alot  time we all spent at the baseball field and boys hanging out . Even though they moved from Sanford to be closer to his family we all remained in contact . When we received  the news yesterday pur hearts broke for all of you . One thing we can say he was a hard working man and he would do anything for anyone .  He was such a proud dad and granddad and talk about all of you !
if there is anything we can do please let us know.

Chris was one of the best superintendents I have ever worked with. He was always willing to take the extra time to explain how things worked and was understanding of mistakes. Not only that, he was an extremely kind, funny, and enjoyable person to be around. I owe a lot of my success to Chris and am so sorry for your loss. He will be deeply missed.

Chris was an awesome guy. I had the pleasure to work with (and learn so much from) him. Chris was great to be around, and he made a tough job a lot easier with his positive outlook and his humor. I know Chris was truly truly proud of his kids, we always loved hearing the stories about them. I am very sorry for the Frye family's loss, Chris will be missed by everyone.

From the family of Bryson Thomas -Connor (Anakin as well as the other brothers and family) we  are so terribly sorry for the passing of Chris. We all met many years ago when Connor and Bryson started playing baseball together. We all became "The Stars Family". Chris was an amazing dad to his boys and a great friend. He would do anything in the world for his boys and always talked about the grands. We hated that they moved back to Burlington but Chris did what was best for him and the boys. Chris will be missed. Rest easy friend. Connor and Anakin-y'all are always welcome here. Please stay in touch with Bryson.

One of the most knowledgeable superintendents that I worked with while at Crowder. Even with the stresses and pressures of the job, he would take the time to example how or why he was performing work a certain type of way and what the parts and pieces were for. For someone that worked a lot in the office, it meant a lot to me that he had the patience to explain this stuff to me and helped me grow and learn a lot. He taught me more than he probably even knew. I always enjoyed hearing about his family and know they meant the world to him. He will be missed and my condolences to the family.
