Shirley Belton Carter, 86, passed away Friday, January 27th at UNC Rockingham Health Care.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January, 31st at 2:00PM in the Dan View Cemetery, Eden, NC. A visitation will be Monday from 5-7:00pm at Fair Funeral Home, 432 Boone Road, Eden, NC.
Shirley was born February 13, 1936 to the late Jessie Clay Belton and Nannie Lee Hudson Belton in Rockingham County. She worked for Fieldcrest Mills as a Security Guard. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Eden. Shirley enjoyed word puzzles, shopping and Christmas. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Darryl G. Carter (Cathy); daughter, Patricia C Jachimiak (Tom); grandchildren, Teresa Carter, Lisa Carter, Kayluh C Underwood, Heather Bailey, Hollie Jachimiak; great-grandchildren, Courtney and Michael Curry, Haylei, Sadie and Katie-Rose Carter; great-great-grandchildren, Tate Underwood, Paisley and Ryland Curry.
Along with parents Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Carlis Gene Carter; three sisters, Betty Burnett, Mary Wyatt and Margaret Chilton; two brothers, Arthur and James Belton.
