David Lee Brannock, 61, of Wilmington, NC, passed Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Monday, March 6, 2023, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden with entombment to follow at Overlook Mausoleum. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

David was born March 3, 1961, in Spray, NC, to the late William Penn Brannock and Elaine Wilson Brannock. He attended Morehead High School. A resident of Wilmington, NC, for over 30 years, David was employed as a Sterile Surgical Technician at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was an avid QVC shopper. He loved spending time with his friends and family, good food, and laughter and did all as frequently as possible. He loved fully and generously and his sweet nature and spirit often brought joy to those who knew him.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, William “Penny” Brannock; sister, Cynthia Brannock; and his beloved furbaby, Rocco.

He is survived by his partner of 22 years, David Kerley of Wilmington; a sister, Barbara Burton (Tom) of Oak Island; a brother, Kenny Brannock (Amy) of Eden; stepdaughter, Kaitlyn Cooper of Burlington; nieces, Serena Pulliam (Kenny) of Eden, Lori Roberts of Eden, Carrie Hopkins (Shannon) of Madison, Melissa Ragland of Reidsville; nephews, Bruce Brannock (April) of Eden, Hank Brannock of Eden; great-nieces, Keely, Kyra, and Kenna Pulliam, Alexis Frye (Zach) of Madison, Elizabeth, Gabrielle, and Michaela Ragland, Breanna and Mary Brannock, all of Eden; great-nephews, Peyton and Parker Hopkins of Madison; two step-grandchildren, Carson Aultry and Avery Cooper of Burlington; close friend, Rhonda Ricker Joseph (Don) of Wilmington; and many other cherished friends and co-workers.

The family would like to thank the staff at New Hanover for their care.

Brann was always fun to work and party with. He was always keeping us laughing. I've missed him since I left NHRMC but someone always kept in the loop. Condolences to all of his family.
