Malcolm “Mack” Tuttle Washburn, 81, passed away Sunday, March 12th at UNC Healthcare in Eden.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of “Mack”, will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  A visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service (1:30 pm to 2 pm).

Malcolm was born in Spray, January 3, 1942 to the late Bethel “Badge” Washburn, Sr. and Beulah Young Washburn.  He was a 1960 graduate of Morehead High School and served in the North Carolina National Guard.  He retired from Fieldcrest Cannon in the canteen department and later served as a Security Guard.

Mack is survived by his brothers, Charles Washburn (Louise) of Ridgeway, VA, Bethel Green Washburn, Jr. (Kay); sister, Diane W. Newland (Darrell) of Oldsmar, FL, daughter Candice Bailey (Bobby) of Eden; grand- daughter, Camden Puffenberger (Alex) of Eden; grandsons, Garret Bailey and Holden Bailey, all of Eden; nephews, Richard Washburn, Michael Mabe; nieces Michele Washburn, Andrea Davis and Kristi Ratliff.

Along with his parents, Mack is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Washburn; brother, Kenneth “Foot” Donald Washburn

Mr. Mack as I knew him by will  be greatly missed.
He was always so sweet and he loved my lemon pound cakes. We sadly got the news of his passing as ai was gonna deliver him one yesterday.
He was always so chipper and had a smile on his face. He was a great friend and we will greatly miss you my friend.
