Marsha Stephens Law, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at her home in Eden, NC.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Fair Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 11:00am in the Leaksville Moravian Church with a burial to follow the service at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Marsha was born February 18, 1943 in Rockingham County to the late Irvin Marshall Stephens and Pauline Griffin Stephens.  She was a member of the Leaksville Moravian Church where she served on various church boards and part of the Women’s Fellowship.  Marsha was a graduate of Morehead High School in 1961 and a graduate of Appalachian State University in 1965.  In the following years of graduation, Marsha organized the class reunions for the Morehead High School Class of 1961. She also taught school in Rockingham County for 26 years. Some of the things she enjoyed were being in her garden, traveling to the beach and other places. Most of all, she loved being with her family and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Samuel Gene Law whom she was married to for 57 years; son, Christopher Eugene (Shannon) Law of Reidsville, NC; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Law of Durham, NC and Joy (Morgan) Law Potts of Hillsborough, NC; grandchildren, Calab Law, Garrett Law, Skylar Potts and Silas Potts; brother, Stevie Stephens of Stokesdale, NC; sister, Cathy (David) Harris, Jamestown, NC; nephew Jon Harris of Greensboro, NC

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Eden Boys and Girls Club, 1026 Harris Street, Eden, NC  27288, Leaksville Moravian Church, 712 McConnell Ave. Eden, NC  27288 and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105

We are terribly sorry to hear about your mom's passing. It sounds like she had an impact on many people during her lifetime, and I am sure that some of her influence shines through in all the great times we have shared with you.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Marsha. She was a sweet person who possessed a beautiful soul. Her wonderful personality and giving nature made her a person to be admired and emulated. The times Brenda and I spent with Marsha and Sam will always be cherished. Working with her on the reunion committee was a privilege and a pleasure. To Sam, the children, and grandchildren I am sure you will miss her deeply. I will remember you in my prayers. May God be with you and comfort you in the difficult days ahead.

Many memories of Marsha living on the same street when I was growing up and friends with Beth and Joy .   Always a pleasure to be around and a gentle sweet spirit.   Prayers for the entire family .

Dear Sam and family, I am heart-broken at this sad news.  Marsha was a wonderful person who was so sweet, kind, and lovely.  Plus she was such a hard worker.  Marsha had these same admirable qualities throughout the many, many years I have known her.  I know the students she taught throughout the years were greatly blest.  

Please know that you and your entire family are in my prayers.  I am asking God to grant peace to your hearts at this time, and in the days to come.  All of us need to focus on the fact that we believers will be reunited with Marsha someday in heaven.  Knowing this is a comfort to our hearts.      Proverbs 3: 5-6

For no reason at all, I was thinking about Marsha today. I am wishing for you that you stay strong through this loss. I feel pretty sure that Marsha would want that for you, too.

I remember going to your church with Gail Fagge and seeing you and Marsha there serving us for the Love Feast.
