Melvin Everett Wood, 82, of Reidsville passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, November 18, 2023 at North Spray Christian Church with Pastor Kyle Goodman and Pastor Lemuel Hardison officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 12pm-1pm.
Melvin was born July 10, 1941, in Leaksville, NC, to the late George Everett Wood and Callie Hankins Wood. He was a life-long member of North Spray Christian Church. Melvin served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. Melvin enjoyed fishing and watching sports and NASCAR.
Surviving are his loving wife, Faye Wood of the home; daughters, Chris Scott (Matt) and Michelle Goodman (Kyle); grandchildren, Ashley Crowder, Justin Crowder, Katelyn Scott, Peyton Scott, Maelyn Goodman.
In addition to his parents, Melvin is preceded in death by his brother, Curtis William Wood.
The family would like to thank the staff at Guilford House of Greensboro for the excellent care of Melvin over the last year.
