Roy Joseph Eggleston, age 95 of Eden, NC passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Eden Rehab and Healthcare.
A graveside service will be held Sunday April 14th at 2 p.m. at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home.
Roy was born September 16, 1928 to the late James Henry Eggleston and Exie Pruitt Eggleston in Rockingham County, NC. Roy served in the US Army National Guard and worked at DuPont in machine maintenance. He was member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, where served as a Deacon and Elder. Roy loved spending time with family and friends and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a UNC Carolina Tarheel fan.
Surviving Roy is his daughter Pamela Harris of Eden, NC; grandchildren, Julie Combs and husband Nick of Eden, NC, Jason Harris and wife Beth of Eden, NC, Erica Eggleston of Blacksburg, VA; granddaughter-in-law, Karen Eggleston as well as eight great-grandchildren; Mallory, Alyssa, Molly, Jack, Zack, Avery, Brantley and Danielle.
Preceding him in death along with his parents are his loving wife, Vicky Foley Eggleson; son, Tim Eggleston; grandson, SGT. Brandon Eggleston who was killed in action in Afghanistan; son-in-law, Danny Harris; three brothers, Marvin, Earl and Ray Eggleston; two sisters, Virginia and Gladys Eggleston.
