Robert and Teresa served Draper Christian Church with all their love, always had helping hands.

Robert was an avid golfer with buddies from Dupont. He was an outdoorsman, fishing, hunting, gardening, and traveling. He was an excellent wood craftsman, always building something for others. Robert loved to cook, especially banana puddings, and would decorate them for the occasion. He made the best pinto beans and cornbread, which was always a favorite among family and friends. Robert always had a smile on his face, ready to help whatever the occasion may be.

Surviving are his son, Robert “Loren” Hutson (Carol) of Jarrett, VA; sister, Betty Lipford (Jack) of Ruffin, NC; nephews, Johnny Hutson, Cody Trestrail; nieces, Connie Crane (Michael), Debra Barham; God-daughter, Jessica Lipford-Pruitt; great nephews, Jack Lipford, II (Lisa), Jason Lipford (Susan); along with other numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own children; great nieces, Tina Keels, Elizabeth Hurd (Robert), Lana Shivley (Tim).

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa; a brother, Henry Hutson; sisters, Edna Hutson Mayes, Marie Gauldin; nephew, Richard Davis; nieces, Sheila Powell and Judy McCrickard.

Robert was blessed with day and night care with these ladies; Angie, Patricia, Megan, Jessica, Brenda, Sandra, Staci, Deb, Crystal. Robert loved these ladies like family. One of the ladies that loved Robert was Sheila Powell, his niece who was called to Heaven suddenly. All these ladies treated Robert with the best of care. They would take him out to eat and some days just take him riding in the neighborhood or wherever he wanted to go. For this, Betty would like to thank you all for the love you shared with her brother, Robert.

Also, a special thank you to Gaynell Cook and family for their love of Robert over his life.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Uncle Robert was a sweet man.  He loved hunting, golfing and spending time with his family.  He was a grand God Father to my daughter.  He and Aunt Teresa were at all her events as she was growing up in life.  He will truly be missed. I know he is in a better place now and we will hold his memory in our hearts.  Looking forward to seeing him again soon.  Praying for all the family and that God would lift you up during this time.

Robert was a fine man. He and his wife Teresa were part of our extended family and we loved them. They usually came to our family home on Christmas Eve and to summer cookouts, Robert with Banana pudding in hand and Teresa with her camera. I will always remember them fondly. Prayers for the family.
